Gluten Free Lasagna

This Gluten Free Lasagna is an old school dish that the whole family will love. And it also tastes like the real thing too. Here is what you need to make it at home:

Gluten Free Lasagna

  • 2 onions
  • 2 carrots
  • and 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 slices of bacon
  • 500 g of mince beef
  • 1 gluten free beef stock cube
  • 2 tins of plum tomatoes
  • Sea salt
  • Gluten free pasta dough

For the béchamel:

  • 1 liter of semi-skimmed milk
  • 35 g of unsalted butter
  • 25 g gluten-free plain flour
  • 25 g corn flour
  • 70 g Parmesan cheese

Gluten Free Lasagna

First of all, chop the carrots, onions and garlic. Add them to a large pan and place them over medium heat along with a drizzle of olive oil. Now chop the bacon and cook for 10 minutes, until it turns golden. Turn up the heat then add the beef mince, cooking for 5 minutes. Stir in the tomatoes and a cup of water, bringing to a boil. Cover the pot and let it simmer for one hour.

Secondly, preheat the oven to 180 ºC while you make the béchamel sauce. Pour the milk, flours and butter into a pan over low heat. Whisk continuously for 15 minutes, until it starts thickening. Grate the parmesan and then season to taste. Take the sheets of pasta and then cut them into rectangle.

Lastly, place the pasta sheets in a pan, then scoop out the Bolognese sauce. Layer pasta again, then continue with béchamel sauce. Repeat until you run out of ingredients. Grate some more parmesan on top and drizzle olive oil. Place in the oven and cook for 30 minutes.

This Gluten Free Lasagna has a rich and savory taste that you can’t get enough of. You can even freeze some of it and keep it for later. It will taste just as good as the fresh one.
